May 27, 2026. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, extended congratulations to Abbess Sergia (Konkova), Superior of the Holy Trinity St. Seraphim-Diveyevo Convent, on memorable anniversaries in her life.
The archpastoral congratulatory message reads:
Most honorable Mother Abbess!
From the depths of my heart, I extend to You my warmest and most sincere congratulations on the occasion of significant dates in Your life – the 80th anniversary of Your birth and the 35th anniversary of Your elevation to the rank of abbess!
On this festive day, we look with gratitude to God upon Your long, wise, and sacrificial path of life, wholly and entirely devoted to zealous service to Christ and His Holy Church. Having taken upon Yourself the yoke of Christ, You have shown by deed and word an example of true monastic labor, faithfulness to monastic vows, and unwavering trust in the Providence of the Creator.
By a special Divine dispensation, three and a half decades ago You were called to a great and responsible ministry – the restoration of the Fourth Portion of the Mother of God, the Diveyevo Monastery. Having accepted the abbess’s staff, You undertook immense labors in order to restore from ruins and oblivion the former glory and splendor of this holy place.
On the day of Your personal celebration, I prayerfully wish You, dear Mother Sergia, unfailing strength of soul and body, spiritual joy, and the all-powerful help of God in Your further responsible labors in the field of abbatial ministry.
Through the intercession of our Most Holy Lady the Mother of God and of St. Seraphim of Sarov, may the All-Merciful Lord preserve You in good health for many blessed years!
