Congratulatory Message of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan on the Occasion of the Day of the Capital

July 6, 2026 – Astana Day, a national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan extended his congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the Day of the Capital:

I warmly congratulate you on our nation’s public holiday – Astana Day!

This celebration symbolizes the new, rapidly developing Kazakhstan, as well as the unity and solidarity of the many nationalities that make up our country.

Today, Astana is a modern and unique metropolis, a major geopolitical center, and an international platform for dialogue. As it continues to develop and prosper, the capital gives a powerful impetus to the growth of the country’s economy and social sphere, while contributing to the preservation of peace and harmony in Kazakhstan.

The Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan has always sought to promote brotherly love and unity throughout the Great Steppe. Offering prayers to God for our Homeland, its authorities, armed forces, and people, the Church actively works to affirm the enduring ideals of goodness, justice, and solidarity in the lives of all.

On this festive day, I wish all the people of our country well-being, spiritual and physical strength, and success in their endeavors. May our beloved Kazakhstan be blessed with peace and prosperity.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan also sent official greetings on the occasion of Astana Day to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart K. Tokayev, the country’s leadership, and the Akims of the regions and cities.
