October 25, 2026 - Republic Day of Kazakhstan. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, extended his congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion:
Dear brothers and sisters!
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on our country’s national holiday - Republic Day of Kazakhstan!
More than three decades ago, in 1990, a new chapter was opened in the history of Kazakhstan with the proclamation of its sovereignty and independence.
Over the years of independence, the country has developed one of the most dynamically growing economies in Eurasia, substantially improving the quality of life of its citizens. Kazakhstan has earned unquestionable respect within the international community as a model of peaceful coexistence and interethnic and interreligious harmony. The people of Kazakhstan have gained the freedom to profess their religious beliefs, build mosques and churches, and raise their children in the faith.
The Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, offering prayers to God for our homeland, its authorities, armed forces, and people, actively strives to uphold the enduring ideals of goodness, justice, and unity in people’s lives. It contributes to the development of the country’s spiritual and cultural life, the preservation of traditions, and the strengthening of moral values in society.
On this festive day, I sincerely wish you good health, well-being, and success in all your endeavours, and peace and prosperity to our common home - blessed Kazakhstan.
The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan also sent Republic Day greetings to the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, senior government officials, members of Parliament, and regional and city akims.
