On July 7, 2025, the day of the Nativity of the honorable and glorious Prophet, Forerunner, and Baptist of the Lord John, the Church of the Forerunner in the village of Rodina, Tselinograd District, Akmola Region, celebrated its patronal feast.
The church was built on the initiative and under the patronage of the head of the agricultural-industrial complex “Rodina” – Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan Ivan Adamovich Sauer.
With the blessing of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the celebration was led by the Dean of the parishes of Astana, Archimandrite Sergy (Karamyshev).
Archimandrite Sergy was concelebrated by the sacristan of the church, Priest Kirill Bondar, and the clergy of the deanery.
The hymns of the Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Dormition Cathedral under the direction of O. Varentsova.
Praying during the service were residents of the village of Rodina and neighboring settlements, as well as pilgrims from the capital of Kazakhstan.
The festive Liturgy concluded with a procession of the cross and a magnification to the heavenly patron of the church – the Forerunner of the Lord John, after which the Dean sprinkled the faithful with holy water.
Archimandrite Sergy (Karamyshev) congratulated the concelebrating clergy, parishioners, and pilgrims on the patronal feast and delivered a sermon.
The pastor conveyed words of gratitude from Metropolitan Alexander to the Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, I.A. Sauer, for his support of parish life and care for the beautification of the church consecrated in honor of the Baptist of the Lord John.
