Patronal Feast of the Church of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg in the City of Konaev

February 6, 2026 – the day of remembrance of Saint Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg.

By the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Bishop Veniamin of Talgar celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church dedicated to Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg in the city of Konaev, Almaty Region, which marked its patronal feast.

Concelebrating with His Grace were: Archpriest Ioann Lopatin, rector of the Church of Saint Paraskeva and the Church of Saint Alexander Nevsky; Archpriest Georgy Kharlov, rector of the Church of Saint John the Baptist in the settlement of Guldala; Abbot Philaret (Petrochenko), rector of the Iveron Church in the settlement of Boraldai; Hieromonk Pimen (Tkachenko), rector of the Church of Saint Xenia; Archpriest Vadim Alekseev, rector of the Church of Saint Righteous John of Kronstadt in the settlement of Zhetygen, Almaty Region; Hieromonk Averky (Belov), rector of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Koktal; Priest Andrey Raspopin, Priest Gennady Grishanov, Priest Alexander Bogdanov; Deacon Vitaly Bystrushkin, and Hierodeacon Theophan (Shubin).

Liturgical hymns were sung by the parish choir under the direction of N. Laskovaya.

Residents of the city of Konaev and surrounding settlements prayed at the service.

The sermon after Holy Communion was delivered by Hieromonk Averky (Belov).

The Liturgy concluded with the glorification of Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg, followed by a procession around the church.

Bishop Veniamin congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the patronal feast, and the women named after the saint on their name day, after which he addressed the faithful with an archpastoral homily.
