13 March 2026. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, visiting the city of Kostroma at the invitation of Metropolitan Ferapont of Kostroma and Nerekhta and the Governor of the Kostroma Region S.K. Sitnikov, offered prayer before the principal shrine of the God-protected city on the Volga – the wonderworking Feodorovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, preserved in the Epiphany cathedral of the reviving Kostroma Kremlin.
Before the great shrine of Orthodoxy – the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God – the hierarch offered prayer for mercy, life, peace and health for the Most Reverend archpastors, pastors, monastics and laity of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District; for the President, the authorities, the armed forces and all the people of Kazakhstan.
The Metropolitan became acquainted with the life of the restored Epiphany cathedral, visited the museum exhibitions and ascended to the observation platform of the bell tower.
