The celebration in honor of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos will take place in Alma-Ata

27 March – the day of celebration in honor of the great shrine of Orthodoxy – the wonderworking Feodorovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.

At the Ascension Cathedral of the city of Alma-Ata there is a precise copy of the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God that appeared in the 13th century in the city of Kostroma.

The Alma-Ata image of the Queen of Heaven was consecrated by Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan before the revealed wonderworking Feodorovskaya Icon in 2010.

On the feast day, the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral will be celebrated by the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan concelebrating with the hierarchs of Kazakhstan and the clergy of the city.

The service will begin at 8:00.

Glorified by numerous miracles, the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Queen of Heaven is venerated as a helper in family well-being, in the birth and upbringing of children and as an aid in difficult childbirth. Through prayers before this icon, healings from serious illnesses, including infertility, have taken place, of which there exist real and documented testimonies.
