Konstantin Dmitrievich Byalynitsky-Birulya, Chairman of the Union of Orthodox Citizens of Kazakhstan, Has Reposed in the Lord

May 4, 2026. Almaty. Following an illness, the well-known public figure and Chairman of the Union of Orthodox Citizens of Kazakhstan, Konstantin Dmitrievich Byalynitsky-Birulya, has reposed in the Lord in his 59th year of life.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, celebrated a litia for the newly departed servant of God Konstantin in the house Iveron–Seraphim church of his residence in Almaty.

The hierarch sent condolences to the family and loved ones of the departed, stating in particular:

“The Lord received his soul into His heavenly dwellings during the radiant days of Christ’s Pascha – a special time when both the visible and invisible world, angels and people alike, celebrate Christ’s victory over nonexistence. In this circumstance we see a good sign marking the conclusion of the earthly life of a well-known public figure, a convinced Orthodox Christian, a hardworking and kind man. In the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, his many years of diligent labors aimed at preaching the Christian faith and traditional culture, providing social support to the residents of the Southern Capital, resisting destructive forces, and striving for church unity are deeply valued. I would like to express the hope that the noble cause to which Konstantin Dmitrievich devoted his life will be successfully continued by his followers.

Sincerely sharing your grief and expressing my heartfelt sympathy, I pray for the repose of the newly departed Konstantin in the dwellings of the righteous – where, as the Holy Church bears witness, ‘there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.’ Eternal and grateful memory to him.”
