May 11, 2026. Alma-Ata. A ceremony for the transfer of church utensils donated for the under-construction Church of the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos took place at the administrative and spiritual-cultural center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).
The utensils, produced in the workshops of the artistic and manufacturing enterprise “Sofrino,” were donated to the church under construction through the efforts of the public foundation “Eleos-Meirim” and at the initiative of its president, Valery Mikhailovich Kapsamun, following the petition of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
Present at the event were: chairman of the Department of Religious Education and Catechesis of the Metropolitan District, rector of the Protection Church of the Southern Capital Archpriest Evgeny Bobylev; clergy of the Protection Church – Igumen Vladimir (Utegenov) and Priest Alexy Muraev; head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District Priest Georgy Sidorov; head of the personal secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); head of the Metropolitan protocol service Protodeacon Roman Golovin; and staff members of the Alma-Ata diocesan administration.
The Head of the Metropolitan District handed the church utensils over to the rector of the church, Archpriest Evgeny Bobylev.
On behalf of the clergy and parishioners, the rector warmly thanked the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and Valery Mikhailovich Kapsamun.
