On September 21, 2026, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and with the kind consent of Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, a great shrine of Orthodoxy – the incorrupt right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythous – will be brought from the island of Corfu to the dioceses of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
For the Orthodox faithful of Kazakhstan, this event will provide a unique opportunity to venerate the relics of St. Spyridon, who is revered throughout the Christian world.
The sacred relic will remain in Kazakhstan from September 21 through October 11. The relics of the great saint of God will be available for veneration in eight cities of the Republic.
