At the St. Nicholas House Church of the medical research center, Metropolitan Alexander celebrated a prayer service for God’s help to be bestowed upon the doctors and staff and for the healing of the sick.

Nikolai Arkadyevich warmly thanked the archpastor for his continued care for the spiritual life of the National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology.
At the recommendation of N.A. Daikhes, Metropolitan Alexander presented Lyubov Alexandrovna Kriventseva, a longtime staff member of St. Nicholas Church, with a high distinction of the Metropolitan District – the Order of St. Luke, Archbishop of Crimea, Hierarch and Physician.
Presenting the award, the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan noted in particular:
“The National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia, founded and continuously headed by Professor Nikolai Arkadyevich Daikhes, is today rightly regarded as one of the country’s leading medical institutions.
“Within its walls, a team of outstanding specialists has come together, united by the noble mission of restoring and preserving human health. It is gratifying that the leadership and staff of the medical research center care not only for the physical but also for the spiritual health of their patients.
“To this end, with the blessing of two Primates of the Russian Orthodox Church – the ever-memorable His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ – a house church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was established within the institution. For many years, dear Lyubov Alexandrovna, you have labored selflessly within St. Nicholas Church, diligently assisting the clergy in providing spiritual care to those undergoing treatment at the medical center.
“Almost every day, from early morning until late in the evening, you are present in the church, caring for its order and beauty, competently advising those interested in Orthodoxy, and offering heartfelt consolation to the sick. Through your involvement and compassionate attitude toward others, you help to heal spiritual sorrows and grief, thereby making your own valuable contribution to the recovery of patients. May the All-Merciful Lord grant you His help in all your good works and endeavors and preserve you for many years.”
Professor N.A. Daikhes and the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District then discussed plans for further cooperation in providing spiritual care to medical personnel and patients, as well as the development of relations between the National Medical Research Center and the St. Luke (Voino-Yasenetsky) Medical Center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
