Alma-Ata Theological Seminary Congratulates the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan on the Anniversary of His Episcopal Consecration

September 27, 2026. On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the administration, faculty and students of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary congratulated Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, on the anniversary of his episcopal consecration:

Your Eminence, dear Vladyka!

Please accept our congratulations on the anniversary of your episcopal consecration. From your youth, it was your sincere desire to serve the Holy Church, and thus you found favor in the sight of the One who is “holy and true” (Rev. 6:10). He appointed you to join the successors of the Apostles and to shepherd the Church of the Lord, “which he hath purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).

In every circumstance of life, you set an example of spiritual steadfastness, devotion to Orthodoxy and faithfulness to your calling. Gifted with the ability to persuade and inspire, you have successfully developed cooperation between the Church and the state and society, as well as with figures in science, education and culture. You are sincerely loved by the Orthodox faithful and respected by representatives of the traditional religions. For many people, both within the Church and beyond it, you are a respected authority and an example of diligence and determination.

As you preach the Gospel of Christ, teaching and exhorting with great patience, you also remain attentive to the everyday needs of your flock. God has granted you the gifts and ability to comfort people in times of trial, inspire hope in overcoming life’s difficulties, and offer support through an encouraging word and a good deed.

May the mighty protection of our merciful Intercessor and Queen of Heaven remain over you always, and may she bless your labors, undertaken with diligence and love for the glory of God’s name.

Εἰς πολλὰ ἔτη, δέσποτα!
