The 13th International Meeting of the Lord Ball Took Place in the Southern Capital

February 16, 2025. Almaty. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the 13th International Meeting of the Lord Ball, dedicated to the celebration of Orthodox Youth Day, was held in the “Rhythm” hall of the Southern Capital.

The event was organized by the Commission on Youth Affairs of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District (headed by Priest Georgy Rublinsky).

Participants in the festive program included: Priest Ilya Boyko, Head of the Youth Department of the Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan Diocese (Central Asian Metropolitan District), members of Orthodox youth organizations from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, students of Sunday schools and their parents, parishioners of city churches, and dance ensembles from Almaty.

The honorary guests of the event were: Vicar of the Astana Diocese, Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Hieromonk Cherubim (Levin), Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of Culture of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District L.E. Goricheva, and clergy of Almaty churches.

Bishop Klavdian addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. His Grace conveyed greetings and congratulations to Orthodox youth from the Head of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.

The festive event was enriched by performances from: the youth vocal ensemble “HorRus,” the Russian traditional music ensemble “Pozagorodami,” the men’s choir “Knyazhichi” (artistic director – S. Redkin), as well as musical and dance groups from the Southern Capital.

The evening’s program included traditional choreographic performances – the Viennese waltz and polonaise, for which rehearsals with a professional choreographer were held in advance, as well as the polka, lezginka, and various dance masterclasses.

During the break between dances, refreshments were offered to all attendees.

The evening concluded with a group photo.

More than 300 people participated in the festive event.
