The 13th Youth Meeting of the Lord Ball Took Place in the Capital of Kazakhstan

February 16, 2025. Astana. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the annual 13th Youth Meeting of the Lord Ball, dedicated to the World Day of Orthodox Youth, was held in the grand concert hall of the Spiritual and Cultural Center of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District named after the Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius.

The event was organized by activists of the Astana Orthodox Youth Movement (headed by Priest Sergiy Dianov).

The festive program brought together clergy of the Astana Church District, members of Orthodox youth organizations, students of Sunday schools and their parents, and parishioners of city churches.

Attending the event were Protopriest Peter Kholodny, Representative of the First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in Russia, as well as officials from the Department for Religious Affairs of the city administration and the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

The 13th Meeting Ball was streamed live on the Instagram page of the Astana Deanery.

The evening was opened by Archimandrite Sergiy (Karamyshev), Dean of the parishes of the Kazakhstani capital. Father Sergiy spoke about the tradition of celebrating the Day of Orthodox Youth and conveyed the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan to all participants and guests.

The program included the Viennese Waltz and Polonaise, for which rehearsals were held in advance under the guidance of professional choreographer A.A. Kozyreva.

Lyric performances were presented by the choir conductors of the Assumption Cathedral in Astana, Olga Varentsova and Marina Bukhvalova.

The evening concluded with a tea reception and a group photo of the participants.

The festive event gathered more than 500 participants.
