March 4, 2025 – Petropavlovsk. The annual educational initiative “Total Dictation” was held at the Humanitarian and Technical College.
The event, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, was organized by the Department of Religious Education and Catechization of the Petropavlovsk Diocese in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan.
Participants in the intellectual competition included students from the Humanitarian and Technical College, pupils from the Secondary School named after Saint Sergius of Radonezh, and clergy of the Petropavlovsk Diocese.
The event was honored by the presence of Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo, R.I. Kasenova, Head of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Akimat of North Kazakhstan Region, S.S. Galchina, Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and S.A. Kaimashnikov, Head of Youth Projects at Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The age of participants in the dictation ranged from 13 to 68 years.
The event began with a welcoming address from Archpriest Sergiy Pervushin, Secretary of the Diocese.
This year, more than 70 participants took on the challenge of testing their literacy skills. The jury consisted of philologists and teachers from Petropavlovsk schools and North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybayev.
During the evaluation of the dictation results, the audience enjoyed a concert dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, featuring performances by the Kerbes Folk Instrument Ensemble, soloist I.S. Ulanov, and the Zvonitsa Exemplary Ensemble.
All winners received certificates of participation, a collection of literature on the Great Victory, and valuable prizes.
Following the awards ceremony, attendees watched a theatrical performance based on the novella “The Dawns Here Are Quiet”, as well as readings of well-known works dedicated to the Great Victory.
The event concluded with a communal tea gathering.
The “Total Dictation” project has been held since 2004 in Russia and CIS countries. The main goal of this educational initiative is to raise public awareness about literacy issues and promote a culture of competent writing.
