Winners of the Paschal Online Carousel Announced

11 May 2025. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, an online quiz competition dedicated to the Feast of the Radiant Resurrection of Christ was held.

The event, organized by the Educational Ministry Commission of the Astana Diocese, brought together participants from Sunday schools, Orthodox youth clubs, and students from secular educational and cultural institutions in Kazakhstan and Russia.

In total, 17 teams participated in the online competition (5 from parish youth clubs and 12 from Sunday and general education schools).

The quiz featured questions on the Gospel events of the Resurrection of Christ and the structure of Paschal liturgical services. Given the recent celebration of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, some questions also focused on military-historical topics.

The intellectual contest was held in two groups:

• Sunday schools (participants under 17);
• Youth clubs (participants over 17).

Based on the results, the following teams were recognized as winners and runners-up:

Sunday School Group (under 17):

1st Place:

• My Joy (Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov, Chapaevo village, Almaty region, Kazakhstan);
• Good Tidings (Annunciation Cathedral, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan);
• Joy of Faith (Sts. Sebastian and Magdalene Church, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan);
• Guiding Star (Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan);
• Grains of Faith (combined team of Sunday schools, Kerch, Russia).

2nd Place:

• Peresvet (combined team, Bryansk, Russia);
• Little Rays (Church of St. Nicholas, Tonshayevo village, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia).

3rd Place:

• Kind-Hearted Ones (Central Sunday School, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Almaty, Kazakhstan);
• New Generation (Ascension Cathedral, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan).

Youth Club Group (over 17):

1st Place:

• Guiding Star (Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan);
• East Express (Church of St. Vladimir, Chemolgan Station, Almaty region, Kazakhstan);
• Byzantium (Church of Christ the Savior, Almaty, Kazakhstan);
• Orthodox Youth of Kerch (combined team, Kerch, Russia).

3rd Place:

• Agape (Church of the Archangel Michael, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan).

The Paschal Online Carousel concluded the seventh season of international Orthodox youth quizzes, comprising ten rounds in total, organized by the Educational Ministry Commission of the Astana Diocese.

The organizers express heartfelt thanks to the youth leaders, parish school directors, and teachers who supported and guided the participants.

The next online quiz, titled “Over the Gospel,” will take place in September 2025.
