A Cooperation Agreement Signed Between the Almaty and Kuzbass Orthodox Theological Seminaries

On July 2, 2025, in Almaty, with the blessing of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, and Metropolitan Aristarkh of Kemerovo and Prokopyevsk, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Almaty and Kuzbass Orthodox Theological Seminaries at the spiritual and cultural center of the Metropolis of Kazakhstan named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).

The text of the agreement, signed by the rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Protopriest Evgeny Ivanov, and the rector of the Kuzbass Orthodox Theological Seminary, Priest Andrey Moyarenko, was confirmed by the signatures and official seals of the Head of the Metropolis of Kazakhstan and the Head of the Metropolis of Kuzbass.

Present at the signing ceremony were: Vicar of the Kemerovo Diocese, Bishop Daniil of Guryevsk, and Secretary of the Kemerovo Diocesan Administration, Protopriest Dmitry Moshkin (Metropolis of Kuzbass); Vice-Rector for Research of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences A.P. Solovyov; Head of the Church-Practical Department of the theological school, Reader V.P. Pashkov, Candidate of Theology; Head of the Seminary Chancellery, Priest Alexander Shishlov; Head of the Correspondence Department, Priest Daniil Bobylev; Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the Head of the Metropolis, Priest Georgy Sidorov.

Thanks to the signed agreement, the principal theological schools of Kazakhstan and Kuzbass will hold joint conferences, seminars, round tables, and expert meetings on issues of mutual interest, and will carry out joint research, academic-methodological, cultural-educational, and educational programs.

During the working meeting, issues of cooperation between the theological schools were discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere, the participants exchanged commemorative gifts.
