From 4 to 8 August 2025, with the blessing of Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulayevo, the scout camp “Burabay 2025” was held in the resort area of Borovoye, with the participation of the “Delta” troop of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders of the diocese.
The children were accompanied on the trip by: His Eminence Archbishop Vladimir, cleric of the Ascension Cathedral in Petropavlovsk Deacon Vladimir Bartol, head of the “Delta” scout troop A. Fadeeva, and the diocesan youth work coordinator T. Gurzheeva.
The camp opened with a prayer service for the beginning of a good work, after which the ruling hierarch of the Petropavlovsk diocese addressed those present with words of greeting.
A highlight for the troop was a boat tour on Lake Borovoye, during which the young scouts were told about the natural landmarks – whimsical rock formations, picturesque islands – as well as about the history of the creation of the resort area. The children saw the legendary Mount Okzhetpes and the Zhumbaktas rock, Lake Kytirkul, and the Kokche elevation.
During the tour of the national park, the guests visited the Imanayev Springs – a scenic source that forms a small waterfall.
To see Borovoye from a bird’s-eye view, the children, together with scout instructor Deacon Vladimir Bartol, climbed Mount Boylektau.
The children also venerated the holy relics of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon in the village of Borovoye.
Thanks to the great work done by the organisers, each day of the children’s holiday was filled with interesting events, and all the children were left with many pleasant impressions.
