September 1, 2025. Petropavlovsk. On the feast of the Donskoy Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, a school assembly dedicated to the beginning of the academic year in the educational institutions of the Petropavlovsk diocese took place on Theater Square near the memorial to Karasai and Agyntai batyrs.
The solemn event was led by Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo.
The participants included: teachers, staff, and students of the Orthodox Gymnasium named after St. Sergius of Radonezh and the Humanities and Technical College; clergy; and employees of the diocesan administration.
The ceremony began with the procession of the national flag and the singing of the national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after which the participants laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and the monument to Karasai and Agyntai batyrs.
Archbishop Vladimir, who serves as director of both the Orthodox Gymnasium and the Humanities and Technical College, addressed those gathered with a welcoming speech, congratulating the students on the start of the new school year and wishing them diligence in their studies, hard work, and the development of their abilities.
The program continued with a festive concert presented to the audience.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional ringing of the first school bell.
