September 11, 2025. Almaty. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a screening of the documentary film “The Righteous Live Forever” took place in the church hall at St. Nicholas Cathedral.
The event was organized by the Culture Commission of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan (headed by Deacon Bogdan Boyko).
The film, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the blessed repose of the confessor of the faith and ascetic of piety, Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov) of Alma-Ata and Kazakhstan, tells about the life, selfless service to God, and the spiritual legacy of the ever-memorable hierarch.
The film was produced by the specialists of the television studio of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan “Semirechye” under the direction of Honored Worker of Culture Viktoria Posadneva. The script was written by the head of the Information and Publishing Department of the Metropolitan District, rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov, and V. Posadneva.
The audience of the film included clergy and parishioners of the churches of the southern capital, as well as staff of the Almaty Diocesan Administration.
Before the screening, Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese, addressed those present, congratulating everyone on the 50th anniversary of the repose of Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov) and speaking about the concept of the film.
At the conclusion of the event, a discussion of the film took place: viewers were able to ask questions, discuss the themes raised, and communicate with the clergy.
