With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the opening of the photo exhibition “Their Feat Is Immortal”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, took place at the Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov) Spiritual, Cultural, and Administrative Center of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan.
The event was organized by the Commission for Culture of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan (headed by Deacon Bogdan Boyko) with the support of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Attending the presentation were Archbishop Barnabas of Pavlodar and Ekibastuz, Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhtinsk, Archbishop Amphilochius of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semipalatinsk, Archbishop Varsonofy of Kokshetau and Akmola, Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, Administrator of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Bishop Ignaty of Aktobe and Kyzylorda, Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, Vicar of the Astana Diocese, Bishop Khrisanf of Shymkent and Turkestan, Bishop Veniamin of Talgar, Vicar of the Astana Diocese, Bishop Vianor of Uralsk and Atyrau, clergy of the Almaty Diocese, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan M. S. Simakova, students of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary, pupils of the Central Sunday School of the southern capital led by Director G. V. Cherepanova, staff of the Almaty Diocesan Administration, clergy, and parishioners of the city’s churches.
Before the opening of the exhibition, welcoming addresses were given by Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen and M. S. Simakova.
Then, pupils of the Central Sunday School of Saint Nicholas Cathedral, laureates of the recitation contest “No One Is Forgotten, Nothing Is Forgotten”, Alexey Sobolev and Marina Filippova, presented poems dedicated to the Great Victory.
The exhibition stands display archival documents, front-line reports, photographs, and wartime posters, as well as official addresses and state decrees reflecting the course of events of the Great Patriotic War.
The event aims to preserve historical memory, strengthen the spiritual continuity of generations, and foster a sense of gratitude toward the heroes and laborers of wartime.
The exhibition will continue until November 3, 2025. Admission is free.
