Meeting between the President of the Public Foundation “Eleos-Meirim” V.M. Kapsamun and the Administration and Faculty of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary

On December 8, 2025, a meeting between the President of the public foundation “Eleos-Meirim,” V.M. Kapsamun, and the administration and faculty of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary took place in the seminary building.

Among the participants were: the Rector of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov; Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Priest Ioann Livinsky; Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Priest Petr Bakhtiyarov; Vice-Rector for Research, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences A.P. Solovyov; Head of the Biblical and Theological Department, Candidate of Theology, Priest Oleg Lisin; Head of the Church History Department, Archpriest Alexander Gaichenya; Head of the Church Practical Theology Department of the seminary, Candidate of Theology Deacon Vladislav Pashkov; Secretary of the Church Practical Theology Department, Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky); Research Fellow and Lecturer of the seminary, Archpriest Alexander Suvorov; Inspector of the seminary, Priest Evgeny Bessonov; Head of the seminary chancellery, Priest Alexander Shishlov; Head of the correspondence studies department, Priest Daniil Bobylev; Head of the choir-conducting department of AOTsS V.V. Dudareva; Secretary of the Church History Department, Priest Georgy Sidorov; Chief of Protocol of the Metropolitan, Protodeacon Roman Golovin; and members of the seminary teaching staff.

At the beginning of the meeting, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov addressed those gathered with a welcoming word, after which he introduced the head of the public foundation “Eleos-Meirim,” V.M. Kapsamun. Valery Mikhailovich informed the faculty members about the implementation of joint projects between the seminary and the charitable organization he leads.

During the meeting, the tasks and prospects of cooperation between the “Eleos-Meirim” foundation and the theological school were discussed.

Heads of the departments reported on the activity of their academic units during the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Rector of the seminary, Archpriest Evgeny Ivanov, thanked V.M. Kapsamun for the support and assistance that the foundation provides to the theological school, and expressed hope for continued fruitful cooperation.
