January 11, 2026. Almaty. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Christmas Youth Ball took place in the banquet hall of Igilik Palace in the southern capital.
The event was organized by the Youth Affairs Commission of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan (headed by Priest Georgy Rublinsky) with the support of the public foundation Eleos-Meirim (President – V. M. Kapsamun).
Taking part in the festive program were: the head of the Astana Orthodox Youth Movement Priest Sergiy Dianov; members of Orthodox youth organizations from the capital of Kazakhstan and the city of Almaty; students of Sunday schools and their parents; parishioners of the city’s churches.
With a welcoming address to those gathered, Priest Georgy Rublinsky, head of the Youth Affairs Commission of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan, delivered congratulations to Orthodox youth on behalf of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
The festive event was adorned with performances by: the male choir Knyazhichi (artistic director – S. Redkin); musical and dance ensembles from the southern capital.
The evening’s program included traditional choreographic performances – the Viennese waltz and polonaise – as well as a competition program, free dances, and an intellectual quiz.
During the intermission, refreshments were offered to all in attendance.
More than 400 people participated in the festive event.
