Winners and Prizewinners Announced for the Online Quiz on the Artistic Culture of the Arab World

On January 25, 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the Educational Mission Commission of the Astana Diocese held an international youth online quiz titled “The Artistic Culture of the Arab-Muslim World.”

The online competition, organized by the commission, continued a series of four events under the title “World Artistic Culture,” dedicated to the heritage of the great civilizations of the Christian and Arab-Muslim worlds.

The quiz included twenty questions on architecture, writing, and the decorative and applied arts of Arab peoples.

Teams of school and university students from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan took part in the intellectual competition.

Based on the results of the quiz, the following teams were recognized as winners and prizewinners:

First Place

Seeds of Faith – Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, Kerch, Russia

New Generation – Ascension Cathedral, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan

Second Place

My Joy – Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov, Baykent village, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan

Pure in Heart – Tashkent, Uzbekistan

Guiding Star HS – Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan

Guiding Star YC – Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan

Third Place

Protection – Church of the Martyr Eleutherius of Rome, Stepnogorsk, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan

East Express – Church of St. Vladimir, Chemolgan station, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan

Joy of Faith – Church of Saints Sebastian and Mary Magdalene, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan

Crystal – Church of Prince Vladimir, Aktobe, Kazakhstan

Bethlehem – Kazan Church, Petrovka village, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan

The next round of the Internet Carousel, “Countries and Peoples,” dedicated to ethnogeography and the geography of religions, will take place on February 15, 2026. The quiz questions are available on the website of the Orthodox Internet Carousel.
