Winners of the online carousel «Spiritual Spring» have been announced

15 March 2026. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the online quiz «Spiritual Spring», dedicated to Great Lent, took place.

Teams of Sunday schools, Orthodox youth movements and clubs from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan took part in the event organized by the Educational Department of the Astana Diocese. In total, 16 teams participated in the intellectual competition: 5 from youth clubs and 11 from Sunday and general education schools.

The questionnaire of the distance-learning Olympiad included tasks on knowledge of the features of the liturgical services of Holy Forty Days and the fundamentals of Orthodox culture. Several tasks addressed questions of cosmonautics, aviation and astronomy (in connection with the approaching Day of Cosmonautics), as well as ornithology – a branch of zoology that studies birds, their morphology, anatomy, behavior, ecology, origin, geographical distribution and systematics (in connection with the International Day of Birds celebrated on 1 April).

The quiz was held in two subgroups: Sunday schools and youth clubs.

According to the results of the intellectual competition, the following teams of experts in Orthodox culture were recognized as winners and prize-winners.
