1 April 2026. Alma-Ata. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a meeting with Archpriest Alexey Batanogov and Matushka Iya Batanogova was held in the hall of church assemblies at St Nicholas Cathedral.
Father Alexey Batanogov is a well-known preacher, publicist, expert of the television channels «Spas» and «Soyuz», and rector of the Church of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir in Novogireevo (Moscow).
Among those who took part in the meeting were: dean of the churches of Alma-Ata, rector of St Nicholas Cathedral Archpriest Valery Zakharov; rector of the Alma-Ata church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God «Joy of All Who Sorrow» Archpriest Evgeny Vorobyev; key-keeper of the Nativity of Christ Cathedral Archpriest Alexander Gaichenya; rector of the Epiphany Church Archpriest Valery Shavrin; chairman of the Society of Orthodox Doctors of Kazakhstan Archpriest Anatoly Izmerov; director of the Central Sunday School of Alma-Ata G.V. Cherepanova; city clergy; преподаватели и студенты Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary; parishioners of the churches of the Southern capital.
During the discussion, Archpriest Alexey Batanogov addressed актуальные вопросы of the formation and preservation of Christian marriage, the upbringing of children, as well as the spiritual life of an Orthodox Christian in the conditions of the modern world.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Father Alexey and Matushka Iya shared their life and spiritual experience with the audience and answered questions from those present.
Earlier, on 31 March, Archpriest Alexey Batanogov held a meeting with students of the Alma-Ata Orthodox Theological Seminary dedicated to questions of Christian marriage and family life.
