June 27, 2026. Almaty. Certificates were presented to graduates of the “Conciliar Prayer” educational program at the Ascension Cathedral. The project is conducted with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
Prior to the ceremony, the program’s spiritual director, Archpriest Alexander Suvorov, Dean of the Ascension Cathedral, celebrated a Thanksgiving Prayer Service, after which he presented the graduates with certificates marking the successful completion of the course.
The educational program, which began in October 2025, was designed to prepare church readers and Orthodox tour guides.
The curriculum included Church Slavonic, the fundamentals of the Orthodox Catechism, an introduction to iconography, liturgical books, the basics of guided tour ministry, and practical training in the reading of liturgical texts.
Upon completion of the program, participants underwent final assessment, which included a written examination, oral examinations in the subjects studied, and practical assignments.
Concluding the event, Archpriest Alexander Suvorov thanked the graduates for their diligence throughout the course and wished them God’s help in applying the knowledge and skills they had acquired in the service of the Church.
