July 29, 2026. Almaty. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a meeting with renowned preacher, missionary, and Orthodox blogger Father Pavel Ostrovsky took place in the "Tales of the Peoples of Kazakhstan" park at the Kazan Cathedral.
The event was supported by the Eleos-Meirim public foundation (President: V.M. Kapsamun).
Father Pavel Ostrovsky is the rector of St. George's Church in the village of Nakhabino in the Moscow Region and the author of numerous books and educational projects. The priest arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in the Eurasian Orthodox Youth Forum "Heaven. Man. Steppe," which will be held in the village of Koldi in the Almaty Region from July 30 to August 3.
The meeting was attended by clergy and parishioners of the Almaty Diocese, members of Orthodox youth clubs, teachers and students of the city's Sunday schools, and representatives of the media.
During the discussion, Father Pavel addressed issues related to pressing contemporary challenges. Particular attention was paid to the impact of the rapid development of information technology and artificial intelligence on human life, the importance of maintaining lively communication, family values, and Christian witness in the modern world.
The main part of the event was held in the format of an open dialogue. Participants had the opportunity to ask the priest questions regarding spiritual life, family relationships, and raising children.
At the end of the discussion, Father Pavel thanked those gathered for the joy of fellowship and wished everyone God's help.
The event was attended by over 600 people.
