July 13, 2026. Alma-Ata. Valentina Petrovna Pechuyeva, a prominent public figure and President of the Vedi Charitable Foundation, has reposed in the Lord.
Valentina Petrovna devoted a significant part of her life to charitable service and spiritual enlightenment. She faithfully served as the long-standing President of the Vedi Charitable Foundation and publisher of the newspaper of the same name, which was dedicated to the life and history of Orthodoxy in Kazakhstan.
She also took an active part in fundraising efforts for the construction of several churches: the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the village of Chapayevo, Almaty Region; the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos Church in the town of Issyk; and the Church of St. Matrona of Moscow at the Iveron-Seraphim Monastery in Alma-Ata.
Her professional career was closely connected with the development of financial literacy and academic life in Kazakhstan. She headed the Securities Publishing House, was among the founders of the School of Accountants, and directed the Poznanie branch of the Union of Scientists and Engineers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, extends his heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the departed. The hierarch offered prayers for the repose of the servant of God Valentina in the House Church of the Iveron-Seraphim Church at the Metropolitan Residence in Alma-Ata.
